Procedure:
Read the selection below. The story illustrates what an experiment is. Study and answer the
questions that follow.
Mr. Alva Edison is a fish lover. He has six (6) fish that he feeds daily. One summer day, he was
invited to a seminar in Ilocos Norte. He will stay there for a week. Thus, he instructed his housemaid
to feed the fish.
The housemaid felt too hot one noontime and thinking that the fish felt the same way, put
some ice cubes in the water. In just a short while, all the fish in the aquarium died.
When Alva got home, he learned about the unfortunate incident. He did not reprimand the
helper instead he conducted an investigation on the death of his fish. What he did were:
-Bought six fish of the same kind as those that had died.
• Got two (2) identical wide-mouthed jar with the same amount of water.
Labeled the first as Jar 1 and put 3 fishes on it and put the remaining 3 on Jar No. 2.
• Left the fish on the jars for two days then put some ice cubes on Jar No. 1.
