Rough surface: is having lots of irregularities and produce more friction. Rough materials have bumps or ridges on their surfaces.
Smooth surface: is having less no. of irregularities and produce less friction. Smooth materials do not have such bumps on their surfaces
Example of a Rough material : Sandpaper, nail file, coconut, coral, limestone, and granite.
Example of a Smooth material : Mirror, ice, glass, metal, marble, and satin.
