okay so forgive me if I am wrong...

A. How many girls are there in the class.

B. There are 40 pupils, and 2/5 of them are boys

C. (here is how I solved it but I'm not sure if its okay for you or not)

so 40÷5=8 so 1/5=8 and 8+8=16 so 40-16=24 so the answer is 24.
