Required Reaction Paper

Think of a social phenomenon or current event that you deeply care about. If yo cannot think of any topic or current event, you can choose from one of the following:

-a recent calamity
-a devastating flood
-the bagong bayani or the OFW
-poverty in the Philippines

Write a three paragraphs reaction paper about that event/ phenomenon. Your paragraph must include introduction, body, and conclusion.

Filipinos are having a hard time surviving in such difficult conditions, and more and more are falling into extreme poverty. According to the Asian Development Bank, the major causes of poverty include: low economic growth, a weak agricultural sector, increased population rates and a high volume of inequality.

The United Nations Social Policy and Development Division identifies “inequalities in income distribution and access to productive resources, basic social services, opportunities” and more as a cause for poverty. Groups like women, religious minorities, and racial minorities are the most vulnerable.

In conclusion, poverty is not the problem of a person but of the whole nation. Also, it should be deal with on an urgent basis by the implementation of effective measures. In addition, eradication of poverty has become necessary for the sustainable and inclusive growth of people, society, country, and economy.
