The mode of transmission of conjuctivitis or "pink eye" is via direct contact, in which, the children keeps in scratching their eyes using their bare hands. It could have been prevented if there is enough water supply for them to wash their hands. Since, they don't have enough space to stay and play, it could be one of the reason why there's a rapid transmission of the disease.
