As a filipino citizen it's a culture that we value traditions and culture we usually set aside a specific day for a certain celebration like festivals, birthday parties, reunions, etc. Every gathering is dedicated to keeping up with each other over sumptuous food. And there goes the situation one time my friend of mine from malaysia judged on why do we celebrate such things so much. I find myself sad and disappointed yet regardless of what anyone says filipino's are resilient we are strong and still gives a smile in any hardships we've been through we still that hope for the better days.
