The law mentioned in “The Maragtas” is the “Code of Rajah Kalantiaw” in the epic history Maragtas is said to be have been written in 1433 by Datu Klantiaw. The Code of Kalantiaw is a penal code which has been believed to govern pre-Hispanic Philippine society a century before Magellan arrived in the Philippines.
