Yes, there are certain people and certain cultures that promotes FGC or woman circumcision. According to Khazan (2015), in some areas of Africa and Middle East, FGC involves an elder or other community member slicing off all or part of a woman’s genitals as part of a ceremony that is often conducted around the time that the woman reaches puberty.
