The greenhouse effect is a process that occurs when gases in Earth's atmosphere trap the Sun's heat. This process makes Earth much warmer than it would be without an atmosphere.
It affect the temperature of the earth because it is rising at nearly twice the rate it was 50 years ago. This rapid rate and pattern of warming, cannot be explained by natural cycles alone ,human influence is rapidly changing the climate .Climate scientists attributed this to the effect of green house gases (GHGs) .The main causes of GHG are due to human activities like chemical emissions of soot, CO2 and methane.
