Answer:
My impressions mean nothing, it's more important is to establish truth.
The term Abrahamic Religions is offensive to Jews and most Christians, and is not a term used by anyone except Muslims.
The term abrahamic religion is used by Muslims as a form of manipulation in attempt to proselytize Christians and Jews to convert to Islam.
Islam believes it has replaced Judaism and Christianity (as they were only temporary messages preparing the world for the coming of Muhammad, according to Muslim mythology).
Islam further believes (but cannot provide evidence to this hateful and untrue claim) Jews rewrote parts of the Bible, and Christians rewrote parts of the New Testament, which is offensive and a completely false. Since there's no proof of there allegations against Jews and Christians happening, means it would not stand up in a court of law: it would be considered false allegations and possible deception).
Mohamed, the founder of Islam, claimed he was the restoration of the secret mystery religion of Adam.
I believe the teachings of Muhammad are completely false, and I believe he is a false prophet.
Islam claims a connection to Abraham, and have tried to use this as common ground for their multi-faith dialogues (which are an attempt at proselytizing). There is no spiritual/faith connection to Muhammad/Islam and Abraham (and Moses, etc). Yes Abraham did have a son named Ismael, but according to historical records Ishmael was the byproduct of Sarah's disbelief in faith. Choosing not to trust God, she persuaded her husband to sleep with the mistress Hagar who in turn got pregnant with the child they named Ishmael.
Abraham retained faith and God's promise that Sarah would conceive, and his faith was credited to him as righteousness. When Sarah was pregnant with the boy they named Isaac, their household began to 'spiritually renovate’. Ishmael refused to abide by his father's leadership, and also refused to give up idol worship.
Eventually Abraham and Sarah had to evict Hagar and Ishmael from their household. They went from the land of Canaan into the Arabian peninsula, and ishmael's bitterness and jealousy kept him there. He never went to visit his family, and returned only for his father Abraham's funeral. Indeed Ishmael had offspring in the Arabian peninsula, and some of those people centuries later became followers of Muhammad. But Islam's connection to Abraham has nothing to do with the connection of Judaism, nor that of Christianity.
