Animals need respiration usually requires oxygen, and animals get their oxygen by breathing. All vertebrate animals that live on land have lungs.
But most animals having moist skin can breathe through their skin. Amphibians like frogs, toads, and salamanders are the most common examples. Some worms like earthworms or nightcrawlers also breathe through their skin.
